Reusable Shopping Bags are Green and Trendy

Paper or Plastic? How about neither?
Using Recycled Bags
Yes, it is more popular now than ever. There are new designer bags made for the trendy folk who like to shop green. There are the standard no-frills bags for the guys who like to conserve, but not make a huge splash. There are bags for anyone and everyone who go shopping these days. Utilizing reusable bags will not only make you feel better, but will help save the planet. Want more? How about the discounts offered by a wide array of businesses for using your own shopping bags? Oh, they are out there. Plenty of them. It's just one more reason you should keep several bags in your trunk the next time you go shopping.
Remember, these bags aren't just for food shopping. You can bring them to electronics stores, the mall, toss your outgoing mail in them, and so much more! They are incredibly durable, washable, and will save you space and time! The last thing you want are those plastic or paper bags piling up as you wait for the recycle truck to come every few weeks. Lets take a look at some of the different bags you can use, and which ones would be a good match for the type of shopping you do!
The bags will get dirty, yes.
Solution to the dirty reusable bag.
Um, let's see. Oh yeah, wash it!
In a washing machine?
Yes!
But I have an insulated bag that can't go in the washer, can I hand wash it with soap or disinfectant?
Sure you can!
Oh right! Why didn't I think of that?!
Of course a bag you use over and over again is going to get dirty. The simple solution to this is to make a brief mental checklist before you buy your reusable bags...
*Make sure they are machine washable
*If you are in the market for an insulated bag to keep certain foods cold, make sure the bag is slightly rigid and easy to maintain.

Trader Jo's is the place I mostly shop. I try to remember to take my bags with me but on occassion I flake out and leave them behind. TJ's is going to start charging you $.50 for a bag (non-reusable)at the check-out if you forget the reusanle ones. It makes perfect sense to take reusable bags, good for the earth and it is just the right thing to do! Great stuff here.
