My 10 Favorite Video Games of ALL time

Here it is! My all time top 10 favorite video games are here in one convenient bundle! Here, I will discuss my favorite games and just what exactly MAKES them my favorites!

FALLOUT 3 (PS3) (XBOX 360)

RELEASED - 2008

I actually walked into my friends house while he was playing this game. I had never played it before, and noticed he was developing skills for his character as an infant. I thought that was really bizarre, but very original and interesting. I watched him play for another 10 or 15 minutes before we went out, and decided I would give the game a try for myself!

I am so glad I did, as it turned out being one of my favorite all-time games as you can see. Fallout 3 is a very bizarre game with a large, toxic radiated ecosystem. You come across all different types of villains and mutants in your quest to find out where your Dad went. Fallout 3 has a very unique character building system, which allows you to become proficient in many different skills as well as being able to develop your character's personality and how they act out in the world.

The game's monetary currency is bottle caps, believe it or not, and it is hard to find fresh water and food as everything has been radiated from war.

All in all, Fallout 3 deserves to be in my top 10 list, and I strongly recommend it for game lovers of first-person shooters, action games and RPG games, as well. This game has it all.

DETAILS OF THE GAME

Fallout 3 takes place in the year 2277, 36 years after the setting of Fallout 2 and 200 years after the nuclear apocalypse that devastated the game's world in a future where international conflicts culminated in a Sino-American war in the second half of the 21st century. The game places the player in the role of an inhabitant of Vault 101, a survival shelter designed to protect a small number of humans from the nuclear fallout. When the player's character's father disappears under mysterious circumstances, he or she is forced to escape from the Vault and journey into the ruins of Washington D.C. to track him down. Along the way the player is assisted by a number of human survivors and must battle myriad enemies that now inhabit the area now known as the "Capital Wasteland". The game has an attribute and combat system typical of an action strategy game but also incorporates elements of first-person shooter and survival horror games. (wikipedia)

TIGER WOODS 2004 (PS2) (XBOX)

RELEASED - 2003

A true Masterpiece! I can't even tell you how many rounds of golf I have played on Tiger Woods 04! it's the combination of great physics and gameplay that make it so enjoyable. Graphics aren't everything to me, and with that said, this rendition of Tiger Woods golf is the best that EA sports has ever made. Nothing fancy here with the whole "Hit stick" nonsense that caused me to lose interest in the newer Tiger Woods games. Golf is a very technical game, but it doesn't have to be on a video game console. Tiger Woods 04' is the perfect combination of realism, physics and fun! you can get this game for cheap these days, and you won't regret it! If you have it already, play it again, and remember how awesome is!

Baseball Stars - (NES)

Released - 1989

Revolutionary. That is the single best word I can use to describe this baseball game for the original NES. It added hints of role-playing elements to an arcade-style baseball game. It's over 20 years old now, and is still just as much fun now, as it was then. You can build up your players, release them, sign free agents, make trades, and earn money, adding a whole new dimension that hadn't been seen in the countless other baseball games written for the NES and other computers and consoles of the time.

I can still sit down and play this game for hours, just like I did with my little buddies back 1989. When I've had a hard day at work, this game is one of my favorite ways to unwind. There's nothing like being able to pop in an old game like this, and play a quick 9 innings.

Most sports titles are worthless once the new version comes out. This one still sells for about as much as a Mario or Zelda title, and that pretty much says it all. Others tried, but no other baseball game for the NES ever topped this one.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4 (Sony Play Station , XBox)

Released - 2002

You don't have to like skateboarding, or even be interested in this genre of games to love this one! Tony Hawk 4 is one of the funnest games I've ever played! The first three installments were excellent, as well. THPS 4 has a wide variety of characters to choose from, including my favorite: Bam Margera from the stunt show JackAss!

THPS 4 had evolved into a smoothly designed, flawless game with excellent fluidity. I still play the game sporadically, and love every minute of it! The soundtrack is great, and the game manages to capture each of the skaters personalities. If this game slipped through your fingertips back in the day, I strongly suggest you pick this one up! It's a classic.

Grand Theft Auto 3 - (PS2, XBox)

Released - 2001

There were many things about the GTA series that were very controversial (i.e. Prostitution, Cop Killing, running people over with Mac trucks etc.)
Controversy or not, this game was and is, incredible. This game revolutionized free movement among a city-sized scape.

Your character is able to do many different things in this game that broke the mold. GTA 3 is fine-tuned to near perfection in every category. All the vehicles, from sports cars to jalopies, handle exactly as you'd expect and smash apart realistically when abused. There are three islands in the game to keep you plenty busy.

The detail is great considering their (islands) size, amount of traffic, pedestrians, and hidden jumps. The audio is equally amazing.There are many different Radio stations you can listen to when in a vehicle that play music, talk shows and funny commercials Pedestrians talk, cops scream at you, and it's a raging good time!

Grand Theft Auto 4 (PS3, XBox 360)

Released - 2008

"Niko! My Couisin!"

I was into few games more than I was GTA 4. This game has it all. A great story, incredible graphics and design, a huge city with beautiful architecture and automobiles. Niko is the man! He is the main character, and he has a pretty care free attitude in life, except when it comes to making money. He will do almost anything for it.

There is too much coolness about this game to write about, it would take days from me to do that. If you have a PS3 or a 360, just get it.

It follows Niko Bellic, a war veteran from an unspecified country in Eastern Europe. He comes to the United States in search of the American Dream, but quickly becomes entangled in a world of gangs, crime, and corruption. Like other games in the series, GTA IV is composed of elements from driving games and third-person shooters, and features "open-world" gameplay that gives players more control over their playing experience. Mike Tyson's Punch Out (NES)

Released - 1987

Never before or since has a game made me so upset or so happy. On the day of my 8th Birthday Party, My Mom and Dad got me this as a gift. I got to open it in front of all my friends! I felt so cool! (and I was, oh I was)

The reason I say it made me happy AND upset were for the following reasons: I would get so happy to be clowning these huge boxers. I mean, wailing on these chumps for like a round and a half, just get bitch-slapped once and get knocked out. My gleeful state turned immediately to anger and frustration, yet I continued to play over and over again. Looking back on it, the memories were far more fond than frightful, plus the game is awesome. Plain and simple! This is one of the first games I think of looking back to my old school gaming days! Go Lil' Mac! And if you pick up the controller to start re-playing this classic, remember not to get "TKO'd back to Tokyo!"

Zelda: The Ocarina of Time - (Nintendo 64)
Released - 1998

This game straight up dazzled me. Everything from the vibrant colors, to the huge majestic landscapes, to the fantastic musical score. I would get very agitated when I had to put the huge N64 controller down to do something else that needed to be done at the time. Zelda: The Ocarina of Time was a concrete solid mix of action, rpg and strategy!

One thing I really admired at the time, was the fact that there was absolutely no loading time due to the fact that it was a cartridge as opposed to a CD-ROM. While we're on the subject, How about the GOLD cartridge?! How bad-ass was that?! Instead of the normal factory gray cartridge, you were awarded a gold one for being so cool!

Street Fighter 2 (SNES)

Released - 1991

HA-DOO-KiN!!

I blame this game, and this game only for the soreness my fingers used to have to endure in my "tween" years. The reason for this was the "ha-dookin" and many other special moves that required you to rasp your thumb against the directional pad of your SNES controller.

As sore as I was, I loved this game and I still do. I remember standing in the arcades waiting to get my turn at this beast of a game. I was totally floored with how animated and huge the fighters were! I was pleasantly surprised to see what an amazing rendition Super Nintendo did of this bright, fully-animated, and fast paced game!

I was one of the first in my neighborhood to own this trophy of a fighting game that totally invented "combination moves." The reason I had my hands on this one so fast was because of my paper route. I was raking in a cool $20/week which was pretty decent income for a 12 year old. I played this game with my friends until my thumbs pulsed. It was riveting. Yes, if I had only one word to describe SF 2, it would be riveting.

Goldeneye 007 (Nintendo 64)

Released - 1997

Need I say more? I mean, really. The first real 1st person shooter of our time. Amazing, ground breaking graphics. Zero load time. Four-way Multi-player action. Pin-point physics. A great plot with a hugely marketable Main character...c'mon. This game will always be relevant for opening the eyes of game designers all over the planet.

This game is fun to this very day, and still doesn't look too bad, either! (Well, as long as your not playing Gears of War 2 or COD 2 right before you fire this one back up, that is :)

Still, we have games like Gears Of War and Call Of Duty 2 because of this game. A game that paved the way for what was to come.
